A place to discuss all things Hastings on Hudson

So, like, are we ever going to get a waterfront...?

I have just been wondering if we will ever get a waterfront?

I think the waterfront issue is of huge concern to many residents. But why does it seem no real progress is made, except the building of bridges to no where (see my earlier blog entry on this)?

I hear all about a "comprehensive plan". Does this mean nothing is going to happen until this plan is done (2 years i hear?)

Hey Donna, there is a good article in this week's Enterprise discussing recommendations on the waterfront issue by the Economic Development Committee. Worth taking a look.

Good question.
I have noticed that Kinnally Cove is now launching kayaks for the upcoming season. That's a lot of fun! And MacEachron Park is wonderful for the children (and for the adults on balmy summer nights when local musicians play/jam at the park) from now until September! What a great place to live! And I know that you know all about these wonderful things because that's where I met you, Donna, several years ago! It's terrific, too, for meeting neighbors and feeling a part of a vibrant community.

Yes but in last month's Westchester Magazine it showed a cartoon of the Hudson Waterfronts all along the river and they each had stunning plans from Yonkers to Peekskill and then you got to Hastings and you know what they showed? A picture of a construction site... Come on, Guys, it takes 75 years to build a park?

Having just moved here, I keep asking the same question. But the bigger question is who decides and who designs the project? What are they waiting for?
